The Dog Park Advisory Committee (DPAC) is a combined group of city of Gahanna representatives and citizen advocates who coodinate the operations and activities of the Pooch Playground, Gahanna's Dog Park.
The Roles and responsibilities of the DPAC are to:
1. Monitor and provide oversight for broad issues affecting the dog park.
2. Make recommendations for overall policies and procedures for events and actions at the dog park.
3. Coordinate dog park activities with the city, the Parks Deparment, user groups, and the non-profit organization (Pooch Playground, Inc.)
4. Coordinate and make recommendations for changes or additions to the dog park, operating procedures, policies, and park rules.
5. Provide an institutionalized process to document the status of the dog park and the planned actions of the various stakeholders of the dog park.
The DPAC consists of representatives of the Parks Department, the Parks Board, the Pooch Playground, Inc., and one or more non-affiliated dog park users. A local veterinarian, Gahanna Police, animal control officer and others as required serve as advisors to the DPAC.
The DPAC will meet no less than quarterly and may meet more often as required. Currently, the DPAC meets every other month on the second Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
Visitors are welcome to attend all DPAC meetings.
